Prevalence of Body Image Dissatisfaction in Male Cancer Survivors
In a study by Raggio, Naik, & Moye (2017) of male cancer patients who were also veterans with a history of head & neck or colorectal cancer, approximately one-third (~33–35%) reported some body dissatisfaction after cancer treatment ended
Of these, about 28% felt less physically attractive and approximately 27% felt less masculine due to cancer/treatment
Both male and female cancer survivors experience body dissatisfaction post cancer treatment and often report feeling less desirable
